So off to the local show this Sunday and decided to make it a bit more fun this time.

I will be taking my pony in handy pony. Never done it before, and it will be an experience as pony is not 100% spook proof :)

Any tips on things I can do at home to practice? My imagination is limited today!

Thanks

Things like picking up/replacing an object from on top of your pony e.g. pick up and post a letter, walking, unmounted under/past a washing-line, hanging washing on the line with pony in one hand, negotiating bending poles, mounting from the 'wrong' side, leading through a trailer, going through water, possibly with an object/s in the water, trotting poles, gate opening & closing, basically any of the bombproofing things that you might do with your pony combined with 'le Trec' type obstacles.
Good luck!

Everything Pearlsasinger says, do you have a tarp that you can weigh down and practice walking over?

This is what I do, Xtreme Cowboy racing, basically Trec meets Handy pony, but with prize money :) It is getting very big out here. Obstacles like this are things you can set up in your own paddock with a bit of imagination and very little expense.
