Everything went really well...

We loaded Hannah first and she stood quiet quietly while we concentrated on Troy. He started backing away from the ramp and Han was a bit stressy, so my Dad and Andy tried to encourage him from behind. I could see him getting a bit worked up, so I asked everyone to just leave him and gave him a minute and a stroke.

Then, I stepped onto the ramp and put the pressure on until he stepped forwards and loosened the rope himself. This first time he put his front foot on, pawed the ramp and stepped back. The second time he put both front feet on so I let him have a think about what he was doing and then asked for a bit more by putting the pressure on again. He stepped his back legs on, so again I gave him a few seconds and then asked again and he just walked straight into the trailer and stood completely still while the doors were closed and the ramp was put up. He did not bat an eyelid

Hannah was sweaty when we got to stud, but she always sweats up when we travel. But Troy had not even broken a small bead of sweat, he was as cool as a cucumber

We unloaded Hannah first because she was nearest to the ramp and I expected Troy to leap after her, but he walked down and stepped off the ramp as though he had been travelling for years... what a pro

So all in all it was a very good experience for him and they are now in a HUGE stable and will be going out tomorrow, gradually introducing them to the rest of the herd. Han will be coming back at the beginning of October so until then they will have the chance to have a nice relaxed month

Ooh, now you can work really hard with Grace while they are gone!!!

Glad to hear everything went well. My boy is a very sweaty traveler too. I dread the sight of him when I lower the ramp! Funnily he is usually worse on the way home.

Thanks Anastasia... I know they will not be missing me one bit

Hopefully, I will pop over and see them this week sometime and realise how happy they both are living out. I can't wait to see them, and they have only been there just over 12 hrs
