I went to stud to pick her up on Wednesday afternoon... It all went incredibly smoothely, I just led her out of the field she was sharing with Troy, three other colts and one mare, and straight into the trailer. Every colt but Troy shouted and Hannah was incredibly chilled out about the whole thing.
I put her straight on in the field with the mares when we got back, and she settled in straight away... she told everyone she was boss and then had a lovely day of freedom!
I lunged her that night as her bag had come up a bit, then jumped on her bare back for 5 minutes to get her walking out long and low. It felt great being back on her...
Thurdsay afternoon we had the saddle fitter coming just to make sure hers would be ok to bring her back into work with, and it was so off we went on a 20 minutes hack just me and Hannah... I was quite emotional riding her as it had been 12 months since I had last took her out, but it felt amazing to be riding her again.
Friday we went in the school and just walked around, and the same on Saturday (although she cantered off with me Saturday just to remind me what she was made of)... and then Sunday we went for an hour and a half hack up lots of hills which she absolutely loved. She hadn't even broken a sweat when we got back, and just adored being out and about again. She was striding out, and the horse that came with us kept having to jog to keep up on occasions.
She is having today off, and her shoes put back on tomorrow...
I'll take some photos of her asap, I'll try to get Andy to come up with me this week some time and get some of her being ridden again
