Well, as the title suggests... tonight is the first time it has remained hard throughout the day even though she has been out in the field.

She was restless when I left her and has not been eating much haylage since coming in at 12pm (usually finishes it). She was also not particularly interested in her tea. Not sure whether to go up and check on her tonight???

Bet you are so excited!! Was just about to ask when is it due but noticed your counter... think i would definately go and have a peep in, are you planning on staying overnight near the actual date shes due?? Are you hoping for a colt or a filly?

Sorry to be a pain but I would have thought a wasted journey far preferable to possibly walking in on a calamity in the morning which might have been prevented.
But that's how my mind works, a stitch in time and all that - and I wouldn't sleep worrying anyway unless I had checked her very last thing!

You do know don't you, that you can camp in her stable for 3 or 4 days waiting for this foal, and as soon as you nip the loo or go to put the kettle on she will have it! Sorry but its happened to us sooooo many times.

Its true, you can camp at the yard for weeks to be fair, and she will keep her legs crossed, go to the loo, or for a shower and by the time you come back it'll be all over!!!
