but anyway...Hanovarian GB came to the stud today for mare gradings and foal brandings. One of our own broodmares was up for grading in addition to the liveries we were prepping and presenting.

Molly is a 12 year old BWBS mare, by Maximillian Saluut and out of a mare called Dark Ember by Demonstrator. Saluut and Demonstrator need little introduction...Dark Ember jumped to Grade B and this mare has also had a BSJA career before retiring to stud. She's in foal to Classic Juan, and she graded into the main stud book today which I am thrilled about obviously. We had a good day with everything presented grading, here are some photos (if I dare!) of Molly enjoying a bit of party time (she is of course now back in the field and fully broodmare, hippo like again!)

Classic Juan, from Witcham Farm Stud. He is owned by Katy Holder-Vale and is a performance tested, graded Hanovarian stallion originally produced by the Celle State Stud before coming over here.
I very much wanted a Hanovarian foal out of her, and he is a more modern light type of Hanovarian which I think will suit her. Its her first foal, so we shall see

I'd like to use Woodlander Rockstar on her next, but was a bit wimpish about using frozen on an older, maiden mare this year!

I remember Dark Ember, she was a lovely little black mare that I think qualified for Newcomers at HOYS as a novice with Sandra Reeves. Your mare is very similar. My friend had a colt out of her that was by Grannex, who is now jumping Grand Prix in Switzerland. You must be so pleased with her, well done!
