This is my goal for 2014. The dales x cob that I share will be doing a 60-70cm ODE in September. :)

I've never done an ODE before but I've always wanted to! As of the 1st January, we're in training!!! Does anyone have any tips to help me out? I'm planning to mainly hack until the spring, focusing on hill work and interval training, then once the evenings get a bit lighter, and the weather gets a bit better, I think I'm going to have one lesson a week, school on my own one day and then hack one day. Would three days a week be enough? Its only a prelim dressage test, a 60cm XC course thats all in 2 fields, and a 70cm SJ

IMO small ODE's aren't physically demanding, as long as shes been xc schooling a few times, seen a variety of jumps and water they should be fine! Obviously reasonably fit but 3 times a week should be fine. Trust me though, you can never just do 1 ODE, you get the bug then that's it :D

Well I'm hoping to get the bug! Thank you for your reply, I'll stuck with three days a week, and try and get out xc schooling at a few different places! :)
