Merlin had his jabs today and as the vet hasn't seen him for a year, I asked him to do a lameness workup.
For those of you that dont know, merlin was virtually written off three years ago as a meat pie pony due to his horrifically arthritic hind fetlock
I was told that he would only ever hack in straight lines on flat ground..... so really not ever
Well, he has got a smile from the vet and he said that he hasn't deteriorated in the last 12 months (this is also what he said last August, so two years of not getting worse now), and is not in need of any joint meds or painkillers (not had them for 2.5 years now).
We have been hacking for hours, done a bit of jumping in the field and anything else we fancied, barring hours of schooling in circles .... And he is still fine
So I am a very happy MQ as you can imagine
Big hug to merlin and to anyone else battling with lameness XXX
