Merry Christmas and a Happy 2018 to everyone!

Just a quick question to the wonderful HHO collective - what are your thoughts on Happy Hoof molasses free chaff? At the moment I'm feeding Mollichaff Apple/herbal (plus balancer etc) and my mare seems to like it (she's not one to say no to any kind of feed mind you!) but I'm looking for a chaff with less added sugar. I also like the idea of added biotin. I know Happy hoof basic chaff has had a bit of bad press in the past, but wondering about the mol-free version....

Any wise words of wisdom?

I won't feed anything with garlic in it ;). and a healthy horse rarely needs additional biotin as they produce their own.

What do you want a feed to do? If you want a chaff my favourite is agrobs aspero, Of the main brands that are easy to get we have the other horse on the dengi hifi molasses free as a compromise

This. Dont be sucked in by the packaging. Check out exactly what your horse will be getting for the amounts you feed. I feed Agrobs, not the Aspero, but the museli one with linseed etc in it. Not that it really matters for the amount he gets, but I wont feed mine junk.

Just looked it up... expensive for what it is isn't it? £12.

Buy chaff, either grass pellets or alfalfa pellets separately ( I soak my pellets goes nice and soft) for about the same price and you get double the quantity.

Wouldn't feed garlic to mine either. If you eat good quality fat content, rather than oil, try micronised linseed - better nutritional content.
