So last night after lunging my horse, I decided upon returning him to his stable that I would sit on the floor and chat away to him. There was no one else on the yard and I just fancied spending some time with him.
I sat in the back corner of his stable, on his bedding and began a full on (one sided) conversation. Within seconds he had come over to me, put his head in my lap and closed his eyes. I spent 30 mins kissing his muzzle and stroking his head
The thing that really strung at my heart strings is that when his neighbour put her head over the stable wall - his ears went flat back and he gave her the "if looks could kill look"... was so sweet to see him protecting me.... it makes all the effort I put in mentally, physically and financially all worth while
