Hello! Name's Jess!
It's been a long time since I used a forum, I thought social media had killed them off!

I thought I would jump in here to seek help and advice. I'm 34 and seriously looking to just jump ship and restart my life in the equine world. Currently stranded in the further point of Cornwall, I'm trying to get back to my home county of Somerset.
I've always been a horse-less horse girl, horses will come in and out of my life but I've not had the real experience of owning one since I was a child (even then I wasn't taught the care). My first horse was an elderly shetland pony, then I was helping care for my ex's Mini sheltie and Shire mare until last year (the shire has sadly passed away since). Im draft horse mad.

I realise this side of the fence is real hard work and I am not shy of it. Currently I just feel that either I know more than I do or I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. So really looking forward to learning what I can here and wherever I end up. During my time with my ex, we lived on a polo yard, though I held back from helping or doing duties as it wasn't my role as I wasn't being paid for it like the rest of the grooms. I was merely living there as the groundsman's girlfriend. I did help when needed (eg saving ponies from flooded fields and building fences).

Must note that currently I am all about the care side. I do not believe I am in a position to ride anything smaller than an 18hh heavy. My fitness is something I wish to work on and hope to seek more advice and find ladies in similar situations to me.

Few little notes about myself you may find fun:
I am an artist/illustrator that specialises in cartoons, animation and character design. So I am a huge fan of Spirit and My Little Pony (classic and new ones).
Im obsessed with Breyer models, even customise a few.
I am a nerd.

Nice to meet you all.
