Can't believe I've had him a year and how happy he is now - I know a few of you know the ins and outs of what went on. He is doing so well and we are off to the Arab shows this year which I'm really looking forward to! I've also found someone local who could potentially give us a lift to some endurance rides once we get to grips with hacking - which is what I've always wanted to do! After the scare he had involving motorbikes out hacking at the end of summer I have been walking him out in hand with our shetland pony to build his confidence. He is now walking out by himself and I'm hoping to find the time to get on his back and ride out very soon, he really enjoys his walks and seeing the world but was so massively shaken up after his scare, poor lad.

Big thanks to Burmilla, Rebel Without A Clause, HorsesForever1 and PaulineH who helped me track down his breeder and gave me lots of information on his breeding ancestry on my very first post on here!

I'm so glad I got him when I did before he got any worse. He is loving life and enjoys keeping his herd of 3 mares in line and swaggering around strutting his stuff - just the way he should!
Can't wait to see what this year brings :)

A before and after pic. We still haven't quite got the hang of standing perfectly square, he's still a bit behind the shoulder but we are getting there!

And I'm pleased to report his mane is now below his neckline again after it was all hacked off in his previous home

Just love him and his quirkiness :)

Thanks elfsbells! We had our first successful ride out today since his motorbike scare! He was pretty calm on our walk so I jumped on halfway and rode him back - we even managed a few controlled trots! I hadn't ever trotted him out before as he was always too busy charging ahead and being a doof, so I was very pleased with him. I was late getting out so it was starting to get dark and he was a bit spooky at the shadows and car headlights but for our first ride in months he couldn't have been better and to top it off he didn't even spook at the usual barking dog that is ALWAYS there like he usually does :)

congratulations! he has the most gorgeous head, in your signature it looks very similar to one of my welshies <3
