Just wanted to voice how happy I am today
1st- the sun was out, beautiful weather
2nd- Rode my Rufus Pony- he is on part loan, so don't often ride him, had a gorgeous hack in the sunshine cantering through one of the fields, made me realise how far he has come from the pony we had that was terrified of his own shadow, and couldn't canter without taking off, I couldn't stop smiling!
3rd- Rode my Tiger pony, been with me since october, and today was the best hack we have ever had, he hadn't done much hacking alone before, and he only had a couple of minor spooks (one at a pigeon flying off next to him and one at a puddle which was all shiney) walked past all the usually offending objects to have a lovely, non-stressed ride- so proud of the baby pony! Oh and he is actually learning he can extend in canter and have some fun now
!
4th- Took said Tiger Pony to his 4th competition with me yesterday- and 4th dressage test (P14)-, new venue, first time indoors, loaded perfectly into a new trailer with a new horse and kept his cool when two horses ended up galloping around the warm up after depositing their rider- he was obviously a calming influence as both came and settled next to him to be caught! Rather disappointed with the test as I think he was rather stressed from antics in the warm up and he just didn't let me ride him well, and I was a numpty and couldn't help- but we got through with no spooking and got our best mark for a free walk yet (8) - been working very hard on his walk so am so chuffed- the last half of the test was quite lovely, just a shame the first felt awful! Though was slightly taken aback to finish with 66.9 unplaced, and really lovely comments- if we had managed a nice relaxed test, I think a lot of the marks could have been picked up- lots to work on!
So overall, a positive day!
5th- finished my christmas shopping!
Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share how proud I am of my ponies, and that its days like these that make the hard slog through winter worth it
Feel free to share your happy moments with your neddies
Sending christmas wishes to all!
