I've just got back from riding my friends horse who I'm going to share. 😃

I've been struggling to find a share horse that will fit in with my work and little girl (childcare limited to my husband who can work late and at weekends), when my friend from work offered me a share in her mare who she has moved (with her youngster) to a yard 5 mins from our house, where I happened to keep my boy a few years ago.

It's was so easy. Lovely horse, great company, lovely yard, part livery (so not relying on me doing horses on certain days etc which I struggled to do) and all 5 mins away.

I think I've got a horsey life again!! Yippee!!

She's 16 and my friend has had her for about 8 years I think. She show jumps but this mare did her suspensory a while back so once she recovered she bred her youngster from her, who is lovely and she's done a little bit of low level jumping with her since (her son is 4 now). She hasn't schooled her on the flat for a while and has just hacked really I think.

She's happy for me to do whatever I like really (knowing I'm more flat work biased) but has warned me she's not easy in the school. She's very forward going but very funny in her mouth. I got some softness from her today and then she managed some lovely stretching at the end of the session. We've had a chat about different bits as I'm not sure she likes her single jointed bit and my friend agrees.

All in all I'm very happy with everything. I'm paying (which I wasn't before with the other horse) but its totally worth it!!!
