Why is it that some people can make such a huge difference to the yard.

We are a small yard 10 boxs and mainly younger people, but there is one family 2 kids age 11/15 the kids have been on camp and the yard was a lovly place to be . Queit, clean and stress free. they came back on sat and I cant belive how the yard has changed back to bitchy, stuff all over the place its a nightmare.

I try to keep myself to myself but there stables are by the tack room so you have to pass them and the comments are unreal

sorry short rant - and I dread to think what they say about me - ha ha!!

my yard is like that i just laugh at the bitches there lives must be soooo sad lol although it does annoy me alot. also welcome to the forum

Would agree ,depends who you have on your yard....was recently discussed in 'Horse Mag' where I added my comments.....think I must have had some valued one's as they used them!

Was so happy to see departure of similar off our yard yesterday. Child bought up every few days, then totally taking over everything, washing, grooming and pratting around showing off etc. with doting parents looking on! Shame they couldnt be arsed to clear the poos out of its paddock which was an absolute disgrace. Pony Kicked other horse in field which is now on box rest and they never once asked how it is or said "sorry". Last yard was adults only, and YO made a big deal of it when I went there, I didnt really give it any thought, but having experienced this I now know why!!

I do sympathise with you as I know what it is like tp be in that situation. I have had horses for many years and put up with and seen much rude and inconsiderate behaviour. I am fortunate at the moment that I rent 2 stables from a private house and have only one other livery to contend with and she is very nice. It is not the closest place to my home or work but for contentment all round I 'd
rather travel a few miles than be unhappy on my door step. Chin up, perhaps the little brats will get fed up with their ponies and move on!

Im just moving to a yard from a field but the yard is so open and no one is really there it makes it lovely....you are spaced out and have your own section next to your stable which seems to make a difference....so you have the choice to interact if you want to....
The horses are sectioned in their own paddocks too so it makes it easy....
The YO keeps only happy hackers so that no one gets too competive but she did have a livery who felt pressured and she had to be moved on because she started causing problems.
All you need is one bad egg and it can cause huge amount of unhappyness for people....

Can your YO move them to another stable area away from the tack room...?
