Harbidge traing aid and a pelham?

Hello,

I have an 8yr old welsh section D who for the past couple of weeks i have been using a harbridge training aid on twice a week, i love it and it works wonders but i still have the problem of..stoping..when my boy gets excited

So i have bought a pelham to try him in as my instructor recomened one. but i am a bit worried i wont be able to use my harbridge with it..as i only use it for 15mins of a hack and then i take it off..and if i just have his loose ring in i have no breaks if he get excited..

So what i was really wondering is can i use a harbridge with a pelham?

I'm not sure I would, but I expect some people do.... I know it's not quite the same, and again personally I wouldn't, but I've seen people using market harborough's with pelhams..... Why not ask your instructor?

If I want help hacking excitable horses I prefer to use the elastic bungees occasionally but I've only ever used them with snaffles.

Shes gone on holiday typicaly..il see how he goes in the pelham it might actualy work... :/

A pelham will probebly work quite well as in some ways it creates a similar action to the Harbridge - pressure on the poll which encourages the head down.
