I have come to the idea of selling ben, I love the horse to bits and he is fantastic in everyway, I want to have something that could take me county level showing, and ben wont be able to do that. I dont really enjoy riding him as he is so safe its boring as I am used to sharp horses. I am so confused about it all, he is a fantastic horse but I really dont think he is for me.

I was wondering how much I could sell him for?
He is 17.3 IDXCBXTB 10 years old bay gelding
fantastic to clip box shoe, etc up to date with all his jabs, worming and dentist.
Is a fantastic Hunter would take a novice hunting or someone more experienced he will look after whoever is on his back. He is snaffle mouthed for everything.
Is always placed out showing, doing very well in his novice and open working hunter always gets placed, unless rider forgets the course

Does not bother what the jump looks like he is so honest he will jump anything, never stops, doesnt buck bite rear or bolt.
Had 7 year old ride him and he was fantastic she even had a jump on him. Perfect Gentleman in everyway,

Got placed 9th in his first dressage test scoring over 60 percent.
Here are a few pics so you know what he looks like for those that dont know

He sounds like a saint - and someone should bite your hand off for him. Wish he was for sale last year, as I would have bitten your arm off for him.

I would suggest advertising at not less than £7k if not more. However others may feel differently.

Oooh he sounds fab and looks gorgeous. No idea on price other than he sounds worth his weight in gold.

He sounds priceless I would to have had a horse like him when I was looking apart from his height (only 5'2 here). I reackion he could go for quite a lot, if I had the money I would pay £8k-8.5k.

Yeah he would easily go for upwards of £8,500, he sounds absolutely fantastic. Put him on at £10k and see what response you get, there are loads of rich people out there who would kill for a horse with his creds.

OMG, Vicky i can't believe you have made this very hard decision. If i had the money i would have him. Then i would have 2 BFG's

Or you could always just give him to me

Just bear in mind the trouble you had before you got him. Sometimes better the devil you know. At my age "dependable" is just fine
xx

I wish he had been for sale a few months ago!! He is gorgeous and just what I was looking for, instead I ended up with a 17.2 5 year old who can be sharp!!! I would say in my area - east anglia, people would pay around £10k for that type of horse however they would probably want competition history. Good luck as he is gorgeous!

Thanks everyone, it is such a hard decision as he is a star in every way, he has given me so much confidence, and I will be very very sorry to see him go, I didnt know what sort of price to advertise him at but was thinking 5000.
I didnt like jumping at all before I had him but now I will happily pop round a 3ft3 course with him. As he just jumps anything.

Would definately go for more than £5K. More in line with what the others saying. Big safe sensible hunters that will carry a man go for big bucks.
