My daughter did her first event at kellsal hill on the 20th april. The next day her pony had soft swelling on the inside of his off hind just at base of suspensory ligament. Got vet out and he said that it was a result of jarring and to bandage at night and keep him in walk for the next few days. I have also been hosing it and putting Tensolvet on it and using magnetic boots!
The swelling goes down overnight but then reappears. Have now been treating it for 10 days and although the pony has not been unsound with it, the swelling is still there- like a small windgall. He is supposed to be doing a pony club event this weekend but I am concerned that as the ground is so hard it could cause more problems.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. I know this should prob be in veterinary, but it seemed relevant here as well.
