I just noticed this evening a hard lump inside nostrils ( upper part usually fleshy and soft to touch). Seems to be tender and painful to touch. Other than this horse seems fine.
I haven’t called vet yet as I only noticed this evening. Has anyone come across this?

Yeah one of mine got a big lump up a nostril as a bee stung her. Her face got a bit distended with the swelling after a while. She had some bute and ABs from the vet, it did eventually go down but it must have irritated a nerve as she became a photic headshaker after that.

Hopefully yours will go down of its own accord!

Also there are flies that typically lay eggs in nostrils of deer .. the larvae become incysted in a bump.. so it might be that as have seen a few incidents where flies that typically use deer to host their larvae have done so on a horse..
