It never rains but poor's!

my horses appear to be in competition to costs me each other.
now my mare has a hard lump about the size of a grape/small cherry on the side of her face/jaw. *it was up a few month or so ago when she had colic and the vet didn't think it was anything to worry about, then it went away. I noticed yesterday that it has come back, but I'm sure it feels harder this time! *could it be an abscess? *not sure whether that would feel softer? *

as I am a drama queen, I'm worrying its cancer as she is 27! but wonder if anyone else has experienced this? *
I gave her some anti histamines but that hasn't taken it down!

I would get the vet out to check. I had a friend who horse had a lump in that area that came up and went down on a monthly basis. Vet thought it was his teeth and in the end ended up having a tooth removed as there was infection in the root.
