My horse has always had these small and hard lumps on her back just under her saddle, she was also on superflex (not sure if that is useful or not) but since a few days ago the lumps have become bigger and she is really stiff on her back end and her trot is off beat on her back left leg. I have been lookig hp online and most people say it is Collagen Nerosis. I was planning on having a physio out to check her back incase that is causing her stiffness, these lumps have never caused her any problems before but i think the lumps have something to do with her being stiff?

Unlikely to be related, more likely she has slipped on the hard, icy ground causing the lameness. It's not unusual for the lumps to change size with temperature either, my mare has a couple and they are usually larger in the hot weather and shrink in the winter, but maybe she got hot under her saddle?

The saddle will be causing the lumps. Either it doesn't fit or the flocking is lumpy. I wouldn't ride her again until you have sorted the saddle and if still lame, then get the vet.

My big boy has two hard lumps appear on his back under saddle, isn't saddle problem ashe has had time off.
Some cream from vet and one of them.went but then had a massive swelling that was going over spine. Think he has infected hair follicles, antibiotics have reduced swelling but the area os still hot to touch. Vet checking on Friday.

I would get vet to have a look if it doesn't look like a saddle issue
