Hard Swollen Legs

Yesterday morning went into my 16yr old and noticed all 4 legs from the knee/hock down are hard and swollen no heat in them or in foot. He's not lame only normal stiffness from arthritic hocks. He was left out all day yesterday and walking around as before after going out it's gone down but still as bad! Gonna give him some.bute tonight to see if it helps it to go down if not going to get vet

Any idea what it could it be?

Have you. Changed or increased his feed? Legs filling is usually a sign of digestive disturbance

I was meant to put that, no he's had nothing altered to our knowledge we've had our hay off the same people they got swapped to this years hay last month

Could be lots of things some serious some not so ,at a random guess cellulitis really is a job for the vet.

Agree with this, cellulitis needs antibiotics fast. When filling doesn't go down with exercise and there is no visible injury you need to suspect cellulitis.

Is it possible to get it in all 4 legs at once? I've never heard of it before so have no knowledge regarding it. Our friends first thought was cellulitis but as was all 4 to just knock all feed on head an minimal hay as he's got straw bed to munch
