Hi

As an eventer haven't done much BD, only a few prelims....How hard does Novice get?? Compared to say PN dressage tests?

I don't have the BD tests and am wondering how hard is say Nov 22?

Thanks

Nov 22... which I dont have in front of me, will be one of the easiest..

Prob only lengthened strides in trot... maybe 15m half circle in canter back to track (as in N21), not a lot else.

As they go up the numbers they get progressively harder, including shallow loops, give and retake reins in trot and canter, lengthened strides in trot and canter, and rein back in the hardest tests.

Circles will be down to half or full 10m for trot, and 15m for canter.

The hardest I think is N37. Its a long arena test, and harder than a lot of elementaries IMHO. Has rein back, counter canter, give and retake in canter, etc. But its a nice test that rides well. Nothing scary.

I used to find N21 half a circle in canter, return to the track and a couple of strides of counter canter most difficult - we used to to charge of the light brigade towards the track for some reason. Circling in canter and give and retake the reins was also difficult.
