Harry Dabbs dressage saddles???any info

I have one, it's basically a Jaguar I believe (if you google Harry Dabbs, it's the people who make Jaguar except their list prices are cheaper than Jaguar!). I have a Harry Dabbs Elegant, I adore it

I find it really comfortable now I'm used to it (ie, now I'm used to sitting more correctly and slowing getting of old habits from being in a GP so long!). Horse moves nicely in it too.

thats great to hear as its the elegant im looking at<<< I have a well boned Tb with a large shoulder, do you think there is a 'type' these saddles suit???

Jaguar & Harry Dabbs is the same thing. The name Jaguar is licensed from the Jaguar car people and Harry Dabbs are the people who make the saddles. They are very nice saddles, however bear in mind they are very expensive for what they are... no better or worse than other makes, but a very fashionable "name". They have a lot of different models in their range, I am sure you will find something to suit you, if you choose that make.

thanks for all the positive replies, i have a saddle fitter coming thurs and they have a Harry Dabbs Elegant monoflap in stock!!! I really hope it fits!!!!! Just one other question,,,,, can they be altered?????

Yes apparently so. Mine is a medium but saddler said she expects my boy to put on a lot of muscle over the next 3-6 months, so it will likely have to go back to Jaguar/Dabbs to have the tree widened.

Not sure about a particular type they suit... Mine is a 17hh (and a bit!) IDxTB but he's got TB withers. I got a really good deal on mine, only marginally more expensive than an older Albion she had in.

thats fantastic , just what i wanted to here!!!!!!!!!! Mine is a 17 h tb (well boned) with a growing wither at the mo!! thanx loads for the info!!

As above, its the same people who make Jaguar saddles.

My previous trainer won a made to measure Jaguar at Oldencraig for her big moving 17.2hh WB and it was a lovely saddle. The leather is very nice and the quality was good. Didnt budge an inch in that saddle and horse was very responsive to the seat in it.

However, dont think it was particularly brilliant for the horse's back as it was so close contact. I think there are other saddles out there (e.g. Ideal, Barnsby) which are equally good for the rider but are much better for the horse's back.
