Hi All

Thought I'd do a little review on my experience with making my first claim via my Harry Hall vet fee insurance, which I only did because my friend suggested it, it hadn't even crossed my mind before hand.

So I'm pleased to report it was very easy and they paid out no questions asked, which I didn't expect.

My gelding got an infection in his leg, and it swelled up really quickly! but I didn't notice any cuts or grazes on his leg until a few days after the event. It was the tiniest little scuff and the vet hadn't stopped it either, so it wasn't on my horses vet records as being the cause of the infection.

I also had to chase my vet about 3 times for the bill and by the time I made the claim it was over a month later.

The lady at Harry Hall said claims need to be logged within 30 days, but she would put it though and would see if the underwriters would approve it, which they did! I was expecting a loads of questions and excuses not to pay out, but I got nothing, and it was paid out, minus my excess within a couple of weeks - it wasn't fast but it was easy! so that money then went towards my next vet bill for an abscess in my mares foot, haha.

That’s really good to hear I insure with them for the accident and injury. The normal companies wanted around £300 a month to insure my horse, I just can’t afford that on top of my full livery and competitions. HH have taken off my colic surgery now as he is over 16. You never know when you pick these types of insurance so good to hear
