I would love to go to hartpury college as not only is it a good college, it has really good facilities and most of all you can take your horse :D
My mum loves the sound of it and as i want to be a vet of some sort, it really sounds a good place :D
Problem is..
We had a search on the website and they offer courses of veterinary nursing, but i dont want to be just a nurse i want to be a vet. Does anyone know whether they offer just veterinary courses?
Any help about their opinion on hartpury is good too :)
Thankss :)

Erm no- hartpury is not a vet teaching college by any stretch of the imagination!!! There are only a few places that offer vet degrees

there are only 6 universities in the UK that offer Veterinary courses - Liverpool, Bristol, Cambridge and the Royal Veterinary College (North London) in England, and Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland.

You need to do A levels for Vet school. You can get in via a National Diploma but its a long and complicated process without any guarrantees.

No you won't be able to become a vet by going to Hartpury. They are a faculty of Bristol UWE but unless you did one of the Hartpury courses which are agricultural/sports science side of UWE you would be based at Frenchay in Bristol. A good 45mins from Hartpury.

Hartpury are good for Equine Science degrees and that sort of thing for if you want to become an equine dentist or run your own livery yard ect. The vet courses are literally nursing courses.

If you want to be a vet you have to go to a really decent vet school.

Nope, you can't become a vet at Hartpury.

Bristol may be a uni to look into, the facilities at Langford are very good.
Obv you need v.good A level results to get in, off the top of my head for Bristol it is 3 A's although it may be AAB.

Just looked in prospectus (I'm looking into uni's atm) you need AAB to inculde chemistry, biology and another academic subject. Out of the 100 places 1,257 apply. It's a 5year course or 6 years if you add a pre-veterinary year.
Just some extra info on Bristol for you :)
