hi,

thinking of taking my welsh to hartpury college with me and just wondered what experiences anybody has had there? Just about everything really! I know the turnout is limited but just wanted to know if there was anything else? Anything at all would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

I don't know specifics but I do know quite a few people keep their horses at nearby yards rather than at the college itself - mainly to get more turnout. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of yards in the area.

It's over 10 years since I was there, but at that time, very well run, top notch facilities, disciplined, efficient etc.
The horses seemed happy and the vibe was good, in a no-nonsense sort of way. Some of the horses were used for working livery for pupils. They were treated well and given appropriate work and riders. You would have expert help on hand if there were any issues, and they have some of the most enormous loose boxes I've ever seen!

Subject to my info being out of date, and I don't know your horse, but as it was then I would actually jump at the chance to have a horse of mine on working livery there. I remember one of the student horses was sent there every year by his owner for winter livery just so he had the benefit of 'free' schooling.
