Took Henry horse show jumping today. Absolutely disgusted at the people there!

1. The woman who's kid started before the buzzer-rookie error, kid won't do it again bless her! But did you really need to go and complain about the telephone sounding similar?! One is CLEARLY much louder! Laugh it off with your kid, remind them of it next time. The world is not at fault, your gorgeous little girl was, accept it!

2. The mother who was screaming at her 9 year old to the point she was in hysterical tears-and then stormed out the arena leaving her in tears on her second ride. I shouldn't have to catch hold of your little one, calm her down and encourage her for you-that's your job! She is NEVER going to enjoy ponies if your attitude is that disgusting! Poor little girl, made me well up, honestly.

3. The people in the lorry park making the most ALMIGHTY noise. If travelling your horses is that difficult, find a different sport! Squealing and squawking and swearing is not only bloody annoying, but actually dangerous as you're winding the rest of the horses up-some young children are sat on their ponies, have some manners.

4. Those who don't turn up at their time. Hartpury are very kind in letting you choose your time-so bloody stick to it! Why should we all have to wait around because of your arrogance? And before anyone says anything, it's not one or two people who might be unsure/have a problem-when half the class can't be arsed, it's their problem!

Argh! It just ruins what should be an enjoyable sport. On the other hand, if the lady wearing the point two with the ex racehorse wants to get in touch, please do, it was nice to meet you :)

Anyone had similar experiences? God I can't wait to get out eventing, please tell me the crowd is better there!

IME much better!

I did a couple of summers grooming for a top pony showjumper - eye opening indeed

How did your horse get on though? You forgot to tell us that bit! :)

I have wondered if it's just a Gloucestershire thing as it seems tamer when I go elsewhere?

I now mostly do dressage so am kind of out of it, but my daughters will be attending their 1st PC rally on Sunday and will be doing more jumping this year rather than showing so am quietly preparing myself. :roll eyes:

How did you get on?

Henry did fine :) 4 faults in each round, he just doesn't care about Showjumping and regularly forgets one pair of legs. Will be interesting to see how he fairs at his first BE with us, as he is very good at dressage and cross country but rubbish at Showjumping-four faults every single time out!

Tbf my sister was one who was late in but because a hartpury person told her to wait elsewhere as she had ages left...

I thought the commentators were rude... I know they have to be efficient.. Rude,no!

And i know its inevitable but i love how hartpury students are cheered & clapped even though one girl was an awful rider & was evil to her pony when.it refused(her fault)...
It was a bit of a palava!!

Cedars.. What class did u do? I mightve watched you!
