Has any one got one of these and do they work

This will also serve as a form of amusement for the horses and may alleviate some of the boredom that many horses suffer when kept confined in a stable....

Easier just to turn them out perhaps?

I haven't seen them before but I can imagine it'd drive me bonkers. It can't be quiet, that's for sure.

i dont see how it would stop a horse from being bored unless it was like a giant lick or something, taz may be stupid but he wouldnt play with something that isnt edible lol

Am I missing something? Does it adjust easily or can you get it off in a hurry if there was an emergency?

As said above, I can't see it relieving boredom either.

At some point I can see a horse getting its tongue stuck underneath it - there's always one idiot that nobody's reckoned on.

You'd have to be sure not to rest your saddle on the top of the door too!

Please don't say I'm the only one that can quite blatantly say their horse would actually be amused by that for AGES...

Simple things! :o

I know someone who uses something similar, although it is home made (piece of drainpipe on rope tied to each side of the door) although the horse is a terrible crib biter so it stops him from gripping as each time he tries it turns round.

Well I think our mare would be amused for ages as well - you should have seen her face when we moved yards and she could see the horsewalker going round. we all fell about laughing as her head went round and round trying to follow the horse in it.

However, I too can see many pitfalls, but I have never seen one before and wondered if anyone actually had one and what they thought

Binky01 - trust me our horse is very 'special' she will hack out with all sorts of scary things around her, such as motorbikes roaring past her - builders in transit vans yelling at her, etc, but god forbid that scary, eveil deatheater of a piece of long grass in the corner of the outdoor school moves well it has to be seen to be believed.

She also 'loves' the farrier, she either grooms his hair or tries to undress him - luckily he has a sense of humour and sees the funny side - even when she is trying to push his trousers off with her nose. I joke not.
