Hello all....I see there is an Andy Austin SJ clinic at Hoplands on 13th June. I am at British Novice/ Disc level and struggling to get any further!! Does anyone know whether this clinic would be helpful??? I cannot find any other clinics with BSJA trainers nearby.

l had a lesson with him once, never again it was the most boring lesson l have ever had ,just my opinion tho!! Tina Fletcher is really lovely,l would def have a lesson with her

Hi. I have trained with Andy for the last few years and find his lessons invaluable. I live in Hampshire and have booked a space on his clinic at Hoplands in June as its much closer to me and a fantastic centre. Might see you there?

Ooo .. might have a look at doing that.

squirrelnutkin, not sure where you are based but I have found Keith Doyle to be excellent, he has indoor and outdoor facilities and is based near Yately

have seen Rob Hoekstra teach and he is very good as is (of course) Tim Stockdale when he was down south but he's moved to the Midlands now so is out of the area.

He's £45 a lesson, doesn't go on time really.
Don't expect lots of vocal bullsh*t from him though, he concentrates mainly on the quality of the canter into the fence, and hey presto once you have found the canter the jumping improvement follows! He made a big difference to my way of thinking the summer before last.
He is the sort you can go to once every 4-6 weeks for fine tuning!

my friend had lessons with him recently and wouldn't recommend him at all, she said he knew his stuff but was really rude, and gave little imput to the lesson. Not interested is how she put it. Just wanted the money.

Thanks - I'm going to book a space on the AA clinic and see how we go! I'm based near Petersfield so Hoplands would be a good place to go for training. They have some Robert Pickles flatwork clinics coming up which I've booked onto also. There doesn't seem to be any BSJA regional training at entry level in this area.

that seems to be the problem with the hampshire bsja area, lack of bsja training, apparently the area are given the highest amount of money towards training, but i havnt seen any sign of lessons at all! the last lesson i had with the hampshire bsja was just under 2years ago, im currently doing training with surrey, luckly im just on the boarder, but they have much more to offer in the amount of dates/levels.
