Im thinking of taking my boy to nene valley park for a hack around their bridleways. Can anyone tell me if its any good? Best places to park up etc?

I did an organised pleasure ride there; Was lovely and worth the hour trip :)

Be aware of height restrictions ( barrier is just over 2 metres ) horse boxes are permitted but you have to ring the ranger? so they can come and lift up the barrier. You can get a map of the tracks. Worth mapping your own route out with an OS map of the area.

There are fords to go through!

Enjoy! Don't think there would be any flooding as not much rain around this

Parking I think was at Ferry Meadow

Agree with this^^^^

Can't seem to paste link onto here but if you google nene valley horse routes will give you their guidelines and routes.

Hope you enjoy, never ridden around but love walking around armed with dogs and daughter in pushchair!!

Or you could phone the riding school there, see if they've got any advice/info and best routes, may even let u box at theirs to save on car park charges!!

lovely place to hack, highly recommend! when I went you can park in the coaches car park just ring them ahead of time to let them know your coming, but they do lift the barrier if they are aware your coming. there is a map on their website.

It's a really nice mix of open meadows, and well marked tracks including woodland.

Good advice given re the barrier. If you go as far as Castor, the are some good water run throughs although not deep at the moment :)
