Has anyone bought from here?

No, but I believe they are a well respected stud. I have seen a few of their offspring out competing in dressage and they are nice animals.

I have come across one holme park horse that was on my yard for a few weeks. Was a real sweetie and had a cracking jump on it but I'm more interested in the dressage side so wondered what kind of potential they had.

CobDonkey has. Her Trakky gelding Sovi is from there and she knows it well. Sure she will be on at some point today or PM her

I know...very pricey. Just pipe dreams at the moment!

Well he was a little stiff still but def getting better. Came 3rd in the N25 with 65%, I was pleased that he's feeling a little better but still not 100% on form. Unfortunately my reader on whilst doing my second test, read the test wrong, twice! So lost 4 marks

Couldn't stick around for marks as I had to get back so they'll send me sheets. Judge was very sweet though and commented on how nice he was and said "these things happen to all of us at some point"! My reader felt awful but I didn't want her to feel too bad (even though it was a little annoying!)! All in all he is getting there and def 85% better

How's you man?

You are paying for the blood lines & they are a very well respected stud.

I have heard good things about them and would be willing to stretch myself a bit for a horse with potential. Don't have the money right now but just trying to get a feel for prices at the moment.

I am just interested though as they are quite pricey and I wondered what, if anyone out there has bought youngsters with good blood lines with the potential to go to the top, how much on average should I be prepared to pay?

Well I went to the british breeding auction at Crofton last year, to be honest the standard I thought was pretty low but there were a couple of really nice ones and the decent 3yo's went for 6/7 K.
I think there is a dressage auction at Addington later in the year, might be worth going there to suss out pricings. Unfortunately I still think you get better value for money by going abroad (which is very sad)

Well done for Monday so annoying when you go wrong, still can't be helped and onwards and upwards
grin.gif
. Glad to hear your man is feeling a bit better.
My boy is broken at the moment
frown.gif
his back has slowly got worse and I got the vet to look at him last night, he isn't moving well behind and when the vet touched his back, Patrick nearly rearranged the vets car. Poor thing. I have him booked into Ingatestone to have his saddles checked next week which was the earliest they could do and I also need to book the physio as he is so so sore. Not sure I will make my next dressage but there are plenty more when he is better. Really really don't need to buy 2 new saddles at the moment though.

Loops has taken a few weeks to get back on form and is still not 100% either. It must be the time of the year or something in the air! Let me know how the saddler goes, hopefully it'll just be something simple to fix and he'll be better in no time. Def better to lay off the dressage for a bit, Louis has done well have a couple of weeks break and am easing him back into it slowley but doing the novices. When he feels 100% i'll start asking him a bit more again.

It is a shame, I'd love to buy something in the UK but also have to be practical as I really need to consider value for money. My trainer is going on a "shopping trip" to Denmark and Germany in a few weeks so I'm going to ask him to keep an eye open and keep me updated on prices etc.

I think unfortunately it will be 2 new saddles as he has dropped some weight and really changed shape in the last 6 months, also he is getting older so the withers are now more pronounced. He started off as an extra wide when he was 4 and I think now he is a medium although my current saddles are wide. Still I may get a nice new dressage saddle out of it

just don't tell my OH or the bank manager

i know how that feels! Last time the saddler came I ended up completely broke! I got a great saddle though and it really helped Loops
smile.gif

p.s. I also didn't tell my hubby!

I have the albion platinum,

mandmtackshop_1901_14793848.gif

it was the only one that really fit louis properly. I didn't want to spend a lot but he is very short coupled and everything else wasn't sitting still at the back. From the minute I sat in it he was a different horse, really opened up his shoulders and so much freer. Also done wonders for my position
smile.gif
Was well worth the money. My YO has the Albion Ultima and it's also fab. Really depends on the shape of your horsey though. I also like the Harry Dabbs saddles, I had one for a few yrs and it was great until Louis grew out of it.

on the saddle front, i have the SLK Ultima and it was well worth the money! Tried the platinum but it didnt fit me properly, the SLK was much better for my leg length, plus they do a narrow seat in the ultima, which was much better for my little bum!
blush.gif

Dont like its front legs at all.
Would be a worth visiting the stud though, they produce some good horses and would be nice to see a few and compare

Don't think that will fit (shame as I like them!) as Patrick has a very long back which I think is half the trouble, he is currently in a Bates but it just doesn't sit properly at the back even after the plate has been changed. He almost needs a flatter longer seat if that makes sense but I have no idea if any are made like that.

Ahh see I am the complete opposite from you, short legs! God Patrick and I sound like a right pair, him with his long back and me with my short legs.
