This is going to be a short post. Have spent all days at the vets with one of my best friends who is now in pieces and a horse I love to bits is one of the best horses I have ever ridden. I am beyond shattered and out the other side!
The long and short of it is he hasn't been right or summer. He is a big moving horse who just isn't "right" in front atm.
So vet had him in for x rays and nerve blocks. Today was the 1st time we lunged him on the hard and we noticed that he lands with the outside his foot 1st.... very noticeable. To the naked eye his foot is well balanced.
Had nerve blocks and although didn't come "right" he stride did become longer.
Then x rayed and all I can describe his pasterns are instead of 2 rectangles they are like 2 trapezius.... Both feet to some extent, but the one he has been "lame" on worse than the other. Then when trotted up and lunged with no shoes his toes both point to the right.
Vet very gaurded with her prognosis and is sending x rays and report to specialist and farrier. Joints look fine and she said she reckons they have prob always been like that.
Has anyone EVER come across this before? What was the outcome?
