Hi,

Just wondered if anyone on here had ever done one? I've had a google but can't seem to find much out about it.

So thought I'd ask HHO? Anyone done one? Hints or advice about it?

I'm doing one for my riding club tomorrow (see my levels of planning wondering about it tonight!!)

Thanks

:D

do you mean a "riding test"

its just like a dressage test , just ride it the same you will be fine
they are meant to be judged only on the rider , so in theory you could turn up on a donkey who proceeds with his ears up your nose and as long as your ridding position etc is good you "should" still get good marks
but very few judges judge them correctly now and score them more like a dressage test

make sure you look where you are going , try to make your circles round and not square :p , sit up straight and try to be accurate :)
good luck

See I don't even know what it's called!!

It's odd that its not meant to be related to how the horse is going. Will try and ride sweetly through the busy test!!!

As others have said it's ridden like a dressage test, but the marks and comments should relate to the rider not the horse.
BRC have been working with those who judge these tests to try and address variations in methods of judging, so hopefully there things should become more consistent in that respect.

According to BRC if you are riding correctly the horse should go correctly... but we all know how horses can be!!! Enjoy it, I went to the Nationals last year doing the Riding Test and despite Genie being an argumentative baggage I still ended up on over 70%. Mind you the winner was on almost 90%!
