.......... by their OH helping out with the horses ?

Mine comes up to the yard quite often but since the snow
( i'm in Jersey it's only just got here ! )

He has been really helpful even bringing one of the horses in and starting to undo their rugs -- he is a total novice xx

No, my OH does not understand my horse obsession, thinks its a dangerous expensive hobby that I can barely afford, which I suppose is correct, we get by though. He has no interest though in my horse or even helping me out with her.
He once helped a bit last summer after my car crash whereby I had a broken arm so could not drive! He would take water out to the field after driving me there, but that was the extent of it!

God yes! my OH has been brilliant! He was totally non horsey when I met him, wouldn't even get close to them, now 6 years on he's fantastic, he calls them 'his boys'
He has been God send during the snow, especially helping carry heavy water containers for me.
The other day I had to move my horses to another field and he took it upon himself to lead my very rude, grumpy, strong gelding! I was soo impressed as that pony is not for the fainthearted. OH was so confident and didn't put up with any nonsense from him lol I don't know who was more suprised..me or the ponio lol

Yes i have - but.... for one week only - i have been really rough with a cold and bless OH after a few issues on Monday when i ended up bursting into tears as i felt like crap and wanted to give up my hobby - he has been getting up at 5am with me to defrost my car....and when the old girl fell over yesterday - he was at the yard within mins, and i made him really really late for work...

Mine been helping out a bit laterly due to the snow. He had very little experince with horses so to be handing my boy is a big step for him saying that the other day I got oh to put boy out both walked towards the field then I stoppd to speak to a friend they carried on untill Beau notich I wasnt at his side lookd round and came stiaght back to me dragging my oh behide him I was in stiching as oh was skidding behide then once he got back to me he stopped I then put Beau out whist still in hestic as my oh is 6ft2!!

Moggy - my OH often surprises me - he is the most kind, generous man you could ever wish to meet - which is why i married him! BUT he is an absolute workaholic - although he has never ever let me or the horses down when i/we have need his support or love - but i do try not to bother him with day to day things or problems - but he usually knows something is wrong from my voice !

He also loves my old girl and often refers to her "as his girlfriend" - but then again when the youngster jumped out of his field he interrupted his working day to take all my calls - bless him X

Some of us are very lucky - and i suppose we should remember that (best go now and iron that shirt for tomorrow .....)

Mine has been really helpful. He has de iced and cleaned water buckets, emptied wheelbarrows and carted bales of bedding for me. He has also fed them at lunchtimes, due to them being stuck in. He is actually very wary of ponies so a huge help and quite brave.

yes! its suddenly began out of nowhere...

Started off when I was ill with a stomach bug over Xmas he would drive me to the yard and help with laying the bed down. Since then he has come up numerous times to help with mucking out/sweeping

.

I had a flat wheelbarrow tyre as well, so he took the tyre off for me and when the barrow was full with muck, he would carry the front end and I would hold onto the handles!

(looked very amusing lol)

he has also insisted several times that he wants to hold the rope when getting my horse in from the field....

Most recently, with all the snow that weve been having he has offered to pop down the yard in the afternoons when I am working long days to bring him in/top up his hay if he is stabled

I think he secretly is beginning to enjoy it!!! And with our baby arriving in less than 3 months hes getting the practise in!
