Has anyone else heard that this winter is supposed to be really cold with lows of -15?!
Glad I just invested in a premier equine buster trio rug!

Ooohhhh really!!! Omg...!!! They said that last winter too... Oh wait last winter was the mildest on record for a million years (48.5 % of statistics are made up on the spot)

No point worrying about it, they failed to predict the previous two bad winters and were wrong last winter as well ;):D

Cold I can live with....infact cold is good. It kills off all the nasty's.
Its wet I hate and combine that will cold and I am not leaving the house unless I have to!

Someone told me it was going to get to minus 15 before december- people love predicting the weather , and it's usually come from someones aunty's uncles cousin who knows a farmer who always 'knows' ...truth is they can't really predict the weather that far in advance but make patterns and predictions based in previous years. This year has already been wacky in terms of weather and unusual weather systems - so who knows ??! We've also had a relatively mild previous two winters so are probably due a cold one soon enough! In any event I've got my yak-trax and will hope for the best!

I've been told we were going to have snow middle of oct to Xmas.....nope that one is false.

Then we are going to be in a big freeze.

The last one is going to be wet and mild/ dry and mild......

Just going to wait and see I think

Yes Mum just rang me to break the wonderful news she was reading it in a paper to me, so probably Liz Jones started it!...I picked up some haylage on Sat and the farmer was in a blind fury trying to get his sowploughs unburried as he'd got a call from a farmer that knows who warned him we were in for SEVEN FOOT of snow...bearing in mind most men get their 6mm & 6inches mixed up...this could mean a hard frost???please??? I would love a cold dry frosty winter...then I could get ice skate shoes fitted to the horses and we could skate over the mud lake...I mean field!Exciting if we do get a cold snap..I don't hurt as much below -2 and best of all....germs...I hope you are ready to perish if it is cold......:D:D:D:D:D:D

Is it just me?

Nobody else suspicious that the OP only just joined with few posts and they have made certain to name a specific make of rug and the exact model ?

Also made a few product recommendations

Perhaps I'm just turning into a cynical old cow :D

PS OP if you are not connected with that manufacture I would start praying for cold, because if its wet your rug won't be much use - they leak like a sieve!

Search again - there are quite a few posts on how they leak

Not wrong with regard to that particular make and type of rug - I bought one it was used for a couple of days and returned despite PE protesting their rugs never leaked and them then offering me another for half price

They tested it, it did leak on every seam and I was given a full refund - including the postage to send the thing back

Good luck with handling it when its wet too!!

Oh right! Well I'll see how mine goes! There's a few people on my yard who have them and they've lasted a long time so we'll see! There's probably good and bad reviews about every make of rug!

The older ones seem to be ok - its the new ones where there seem to be problems.

Just inspect it after heavy rain - and don't fall for the you can buy another one routine

I replaced mine with a Horseware Rambo Duo:p:D

Hmmmm, they can't even get the next days weather right, never mind the forecast for the next three months.......
I can get 3 totally different forecasts for the same region, from Msn, BBC and Met office...

I have weatherbeetas - LOL!

The weather this winter is going to be mainly wet with some dry spells and sunshine. There is also the possibility of snow.....and fog, temps will range from plus 20c to -20c in most parts, there will be some cloud cover clearing later to leave clear frosty nights with the possiblilty of hail and thunder. It will also be windy, and very windy at times and then still at other times. It's going to be the coldest/mildest (you can choose) winter in living memory - there, I think that covers it all!!

Cronkmooar, my sentiments exactly! Very specific rug named, I was just scrolling through all the posts thinking that OP must be peed off because her post didn't get the reaction she wanted eg oh is that a very good rug then, where can I buy one etc etc etc. Cynics together.
