Sadly my broodmare is not going to be able to carry a foal this year I don't think, due to a stifle injury. I have a NFFR to a young Donnerhall stallion, out of a Wolfgang mare. Was wondering about loaning a mare. Any ideas?
H&H Horses for loan and HorseQuest Horses for loan sections sometimes get nice broodmares in, otherwise you may have to lease one has its for one foal most people loaning want it to be for longer/permanent, I originally leased mares from a stud to get started, imo you are just as well to buy over leasing. I don't know any WB mares for loan at the mo, only for sale... sorry!
We have some older WB mares which we cant afford to breed from at the minute, also know of someone near us who has loaned out broodmares to people before.
I have both loaned mares out and had mares on loan, but I have to say that I actually echo HG's sentiments and find it is easier to buy what you want - even for the short term, to be honest.
I had someone email me last night looking for a home for a 14 year old mare by Amerigo Vespucci (see http://www.sportinghorsestud.co.uk/AV.htm). Has bred foals and looking to find the mare a good home. If interested give me a PM and I will send you the details.
Any idea why DJ has gone to Hobgoblins? I had read on here that he was going but wasn't sure they'd let him go, but seems like they have as have seen an advert. for him there.
personally, i think it makes good business sense as i think its barmy standing a stallion and two of his sons at the same stud especially in the westcountry, at least with him there at Hobgoblins, it will encourage others to use him who may not of because of his location
true would be nice for him to stay at home but at least it opens him to a wider market, not heard anything regarding new stallion, but yes think they still have aubrillo
I do know of someone looking to sell a kwpn mare at a reasonable price (i could ask if she would consider breeding loan), she is dressage bred but the girl who has her jumps her as this is what she is interested in and the mare has a scopey carefull jump. I think she 6/7 yrs old, sorry not being very helpful with details

I heard that it was their idea not Hobgoblins and that it was actually Kerenza PC who thought of it first for her Section D stallion (but hers is going just for collection and freezing and then coming back rather than standing there) and they then decided to follow her example but to send DJ up for the whole of the season. It also means that he doesn't have to compete too directly with Kings Composer either which is probably of advantage to both stallions.
