Has anyone got a "Keep A Level" menage/arena leveller?

I was just wondering if anyone had one of these, and preferably the one for rubber surfaces with the tines fitted?

Is it as good as they promote it to be?

And if you weren't too far away from me, I wondered if I might be able to take a look, or see it in action? If you didn't mind that is?

I've got one, with the tines its OK. Its the one which tows behind a tractor or ATV rather than a 3 point linkage version.

It does a good job and does bring in the sides and level everything, as advertised. However I have found that our grass harrow does pretty much the same thing, and is better at removing any weeds that have appeared. Both are a real faff to get right into the corners with though.

When we bought it we hadn't decided to get the tractor, and I had to tow it with my landy. However if I was going to buy one again I'd defintely go for the 3 point linkage version, because of the corners thing.

Thanks Shazzababs, shame you're not closer to me as I could have come and had a look. This is the one I am thinking about, same as yours?

I am never going to get a tractor I know, so I too would be buying the one that tows behind either 4x4 or garden lawnmower - if you're selling yours and looking to upgrade to the tractor version do let me know please?

If you had a serious "track" in the sand, with minimal amounts piling up around the sides, which now seem quite firm on sides - do you think this leveller would sort it out?

Yes that is exactly the same as mine.

It would do the job you describe. The bit that sorts out the piling up around the sides folds out when you need it. I normally go around the edge with that first and then fold it away and do the whole arena with the tines.

Always looks really nice when its done, the only small problem we have had is with the handle which drops it on and off of its wheels (for towing accross the yard) doesn't always stay down, and makes the wheels leave lines in the rubber, but a bunjy strap sorted that out.

Not selling mine, would really like the tractor version if anyone has one to swap, but I can't afford to make up the difference between the second hand value of the 2 to do it at the moment.

We are not far from the A303, so if you are heading to Devon\Cornwall for a holiday and want to make a detour to have a play just let me know.

The yard I was on had one of those which was pretty good at bringing the edges in as a whole but there were a few problems - it was a nightmare to get into the corners (though good practice for attempting to reverse a trailer in a straight line!!) and if there is a little bump in the surface then the leveller over time seemed to build that bump and the dip after it :(

My YO uses a metal 5 bar gate attached to the back of her truck! Does exactly the same job as the expensive dedicated contraptions :)

I've got one of these too - but it's just not doing the job, or rectifying the problem I've got as I've probably not levelled it often enough. Not sure why it's got into a state, but I do need to do something about it - hence looking for a leveller that says it "guarantees" to pull the outer edges so preventing tracking. Bit of a waste of money though if it's no better?

Anyone else got any thoughts?

When towing I always lock my handle with the pin and r clip provided
then it cannot drop however bumpy it is.
