Has anyone got any Sergio Grasso long boots?? Or pics of you on your horse in them?

Hi.

I'd like some smart new long boots for competing and today I tried on the 2 types of Brogini (sp) ones and wasn't really keen so tried on the Sergio Grasso ones and they felt lovely and comfy and looked very smart.

Are they worth the £380 though? Has anyone else got them? Or have you got any pictures of you on your horse wearing them?

Would just like to see and try and numb the pain of spending nearly £400 on some boots :)

Thanks,

Vicki

I have got the Sanremo 12500 ones and love them.

I found them comfortable from day 1 and they clean and polish well and still look new after a few years now. I also tried lots of different ones before buying these and like you I found it hard to warrant the price they were but I am so pleased I bought them now.

I have sergio grasso boots, went to derby house to buy a cheap pair and ended up with them as they were so comfortable, did promise oh I would only wear for competitions but keep wearing them to school as they are so nice. Have pics on computer, on phone at moment. Would recommend them.

I have 3 pairs sergio grasso San Remo- love them- the 3rd pair being the tired old pair with patches and re-soled a few times.Various different models- using different leathers though. I bought my new pair two weeks agos and they were £519. Soft leather, re soleable and triangle things on the ankle. my other two pairs are about 2006 and the other pair alot older! I ride 4 -10 a day!

I buy them all a little too tall in the leg so that I have to wear with heel lifts. I push through the pain barrier, break them in with winter dressage and they should be right to event in few mnths!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to get them. Just have to get the right size as the ones they have were too short.

Found some in the sale at another tack shop, right height, right foot just too wide in the calf so wondering about getting them altered and made more narrow.
I tried calling derby house but they don't have them in my size :(

Hi I have a pair of Sergio Grasso long boots for sale , i bought them a few years ago and have only used them a couple of times and i do not ride anymore. I think they are a size 6 narrow leg. My daughter is a 71/2 so have no use for them, so if your interested let me know.

I have a pair which I bought off ebay and they are fab. However, My sister also has a pair (about 4 years old) and both zips have gone... One went just before a dressage test and she had to tape them together with yellow tape! Not sure the judge was impressed!

Sadly I'm only a 4.5 so a 6 would be a bit big for me :(

Little grey mate, did your sister wear hers alot for them to break in that time?

Mine were the most comfortable pair of boots imaginable... The zip went on mine after 3 years though. I got new zips put in but then all the plastic round the heel came through and was cutting my ankle up. They lasted nearly 4 years, were so so so comfortable though!

I only wore mine to compete; I do compete most weekends and normally several horses but I would have liked them to last a little bit longer...

I have the Vicenza ones - for my sins.

Honestly they are awful. In fact I'm shocked at so many people being happy with them!

The zips are terrible and where they drop round the ankle the zip then digs right in. I have a permanent huge lump on the back of my ankle now which I assume is a build up of scar tissue which doesn't look pretty in the summer. And I'm not the only one either, someone else I know had exactly the same problem.

I had mine for 14 months but only rode in them for about 6 months (and never walked round in them - God that was excruciating) and they broke. Waste of money and agony.

About to take delivery of my Konigs.... much better value for money!

I have a pair of the San Remos, and love them! Never needed breaking in, just put them on and rode in them. Very comfy, really support your leg too.
I do keep mine for best though, and have only had them a year so can't comment on the zip thing :(

Oh no Ifield that's not good. No one near me sells konigs and I would want to try them on.
I would only wear mine for best and dont compete every weekend so the zip bit doesn't worry me too much.
Guess I'll just try the proper fit ones on tomorrow when they come in (the ones I tried weren't quite right) and see. Thanks everyone :)

I have a pair and I love them!! Looked on the DH website as I had no idea which model they were and they are the 'Sergio Grasso 12500 Sanremo Boots'. I've had them for 10yrs now. Only wear them for competitions and the odd lesson and they have lasted amazingly! I had the zip in the left boot replaced this year as it went, but I think that is pretty good after 10yrs ;)

If you do get them, make sure they are very snug to start with. I had to wear mine around the house for a while before I could ride in them (too tight!) but now they fit like a glove! I will def be getting another pair once these ones give up, but that will be a few years yet!! :D

I've had mine for about 8 years now and they are still going strong and look very smart!

I wear them for lessons and competing and they aren't treated that well- quick wipe before putting them on and I also walk the xc etc in them at events as can't be bothered to change and they still look great.

I've had mine 8 yrs now, the zips at the back went after a couple of years, but I just had the zips replaced by a local cobbler for about £25 (NOT the factory which would have been a fortune!). They are starting to look a bit tired now, toes are more grey than black now, and the sole is starting to come away from the boot. Although saying that a recent picture taken of me riding in them they don't look tatty on a horse.

But they have done me well!!

Love mine had them for nearly 9 years now they still look like new. Mine dropped 1/2 inch but was measured and had them made to still be the right length. I can walk a xc course in them and ride all day. I did have the zips redone last year but this that was due!!!
Really can't fault them
