We are planning on resurfacing our sand school with wood fibre as the sand is too deep and too heavy. Has anyone got wood fibre in theirs? How long does it last? Also can anyone recommend a supplier in Scotland? I am in the NE but anywhere will be considered?

I am contemplating the exact same thing. I've got a guy from AllBed bringing me samples of their wood fibre riding surface this week. I'd be interested in any responses you get re whether this provides a stable surface - my sand surface is brilliant most of the time (we get plenty of rain here) but soon dries out in sunny weather and is practically unusable.

I would contact Fountain Equestrian, as I believe they had or Have that in their indoor school

Fountain had the wood fibre in their indoor arena removed a couple of years ago as there was too much movement in the surface and a few horses fell when jumping and have just had it removed in the outdoor arenas and replaced it with silica sand and rubber.

Ahh ok. I did quite like the surface, as did Beau. And my friend who bounced several times when she came off on it

It was a nice surface to ride on but I think that over time the wood fibre was expanding with the wet and it became very boggy and deep and no amount of management sorted the problem and it began to be unrideable.
