If so what treatment did it have?
And what did it look like?
And did it just swell like overnight?
Am wondering as don't know whether mine has vet is coming tomorrow.

The usual treatment for such a condition is an operation, depending on the severity will depend on whether or not he would need a local or general anaestetic.

The cause is a rupture in the stomach lining which in turn causes part of the bowel to poke through causing the bulge.

Some horses have small hernia's all their lives which cause no problem but the bigger the lump the more likely it is that it could cause a problem and or get an infection.

For the sake of a call out, I would definitely get your vet to have a look.

Yes - my mare had a small hernia. I spoke to the vets when they were out doing jabs, and they advised, as it was a small one, to leave it unless I wanted to put the mare in foal (which I didn't) - and that the more weight she was carrying the larger it would appear.

My mare was quite fat when I first had her, but once I started working her regularly it shrunk down loads, and wasn't noticeable at all. So much so that when she was vetted when I sold her the vet doing the vetting didn't even pick up on it until I pointed it out!!!

Yeah my boy had one a couple of years ago, the vet poked it back in and banded the rest of the lump. In a few weeks the excess lump fell off and he was fine and has been since. The vet did say if that didn't work he would have to have an operation to fix the hernia. I hope your horse is ok and the hernia is not to bad.
