Has anyone had a lesson with Mickey Gavin?

Hi,
I am having Mickey Gavin visit me and my horse for a lesson soon. If all goes well I will probably go to his yard with my horse for a weeks training.
Has anyone ever trained with Mickey? What did you think?

Have been to a demo and also sat in on a friends lesson. I liked him, he gets the horse going very well- and the rider too. Seems to know his stuff and assesses the horse very well.

I had him out about 3 years ago to my Welsh Section D. Would recommend him.

Also been to a couple of his demos.
 
Hi titchy. What can I expect from the lesson?
I don't think my horse is a problem, I think I am as I suffer from terrible 'what if' syndrome!...is he helpful for boosting confidence in the rider?
 
I think he is at Blidworth Notts? My friend thinks he is brilliant and has had lots of sessions with her and her youngster. Let us know how you get on. She is confident though so I don't know what he is like with nervous people more heard of him with 'problem' horses..

I have sent you a PM about my experience with Mickey Gavin - all positive. However I have just read your post again and you ask if he can help you gain confidence. I felt I had the other problem - how can I help my horse gain confidence. In reality my horse just didn't have enough confidence in me to protect him. Confidence is a too way thing.

I found Mickey to be clear and straightforward, and I feel that will give you confidence. I think he would make a good psychologist (horse and human).

I don't think you will have anything to lose by seeing him.
