Has anyone had a problem with recent batches of Brewer's Yeast?

Just got off the phone to my usual supplier, after opening their recent batch. Apparently they've had to switch from their Polish supplier to the Czech Republic and I'm really not happy with it. :( It looks like sand (not uniform granules, but different colours, from black to white) and I found a niger seed in it! It also stinks of pepper. The guy said they've tested it for protein level and B vits and it was ok, but this contamination issue makes me very wary of feeding it to a Sweet Itch pony at a time when her system could switch to overdrive.

Has anybody else received this and fed it ok? Don't want top switch supplier, as I've always been happy, but I'm worried. :(

I received a bag recently from my supplier - it used to be an orange colour powder but now is a brown, very similar to micronised linseed in looks and texture. Was told that the source had been changed - as you did.

I am feeding it to mine and time will tell if it is as effective. If you are using the same supplier as I am, I do trust them to sell good products, indeed they replaced the first bag as it was a mix of BY and grains and looked almost identical to the one I now have. The could have not said anything, but were honest enough to contact me and replace it immediately and said I could keep the other bag which would not do any harm, but I would need to feed a lot more to get the same effect.
