Has anyone had a stalker on here?!

Well I am not certain if it was purposefully or not, it did seem that way though.
Basically I had written a post asking for opinions on something, it involved a friend, whom I am still friends with, although it got blown out of proportion at the time really. Some one had told her about my post, but the post had been made many, many months before, so whoever found it seemed to be fishing around in my posts from the past.....

ETS: Forgot to say how I felt! I was kind of annoyed that it seemed some one was trying to make trouble, that is how it felt at the time. I found it odd that it had appeared so many months later. But I don't care now, I just did not want to upset the lady as she is very sweet, and I had never been mean about her, people may well remember, people seem to have excellent memories on here, puts me to shame!

I liken this forum to a public newspaper. If I didn't want the world to read what I type then I wouldn't post it. Posting personal details on here is a double-edged sword as these details can often identify you to others. If you're happy with that then no problem, if you're not then don't post personal information. Some of the really personal stuff that people on here post frequently makes me  !!

Had a stalker but not in the way you mean it was someone trying to take me out for a drink so that I would agree to letting them ride my horse, bloody nerve, needless to say did not go and they did not get anywhere near my girl !! So sorry can not really help you with what you are going through speak to admin perhaps hope you get it sorted, not nice

Not on here, but on another forum. She was the ex of my then boyfriend. She liked to let us know that she was reading what I was writing (under a pseudonym) on the forum. It was very annoying, I think because of that feeling of having someone out there who thinks they've got power over you, when of course they haven't.

it applies to NL just asmuch as soapbox, i have seen people write things about there fellow liverys in here that maybe should be kept to themselves.
I have had it happen to me and to people i know. They ovbiously have nothing better to do with their lives and feel the need to mess with other peoples and make a fuss.
just dont say anything on here that you dont want made known to people you know.
Abit like airing your feelings about a situation, there is nothing stoping people that may be involved in that looking and seeing what you have written.

See I'm pretty careful about what I write and not worried or embarrassed about anything on here (in NL or SB) but just think it's comical that someone wishes to spend their Sunday evening searching for me on here and then inform others?

Is it me or is that pretty sad?!

Yes! I was accused of all sorts in RL and it was apparently related to here. Turned out it had nothing to do with me, and all is fine now. Felt horrible at the time, guilty until proven innocent and all.

Never had a stalker, but when I first arrived at my livery yard 2 of the other liveries had guessed who i was from my posts ;) which has taught me not to give out so much info haha. Also a couple of years ago, something of the other way around - a horse I was about to buy - my yard owner did a bit of horse and hound stalking & somehow found the owner on here, and that the real reason it was such a bargain is that it had a serious heart condition which the vendor had failed to mention. We didn't go ahead with it, and I did a bit of stalking last year & found out the horse had had to be put down! So it can be useful :p

Ahhh that's a good point icyfreya! It can be very helpful!

Just think for someone to be deliberately malicious when it's NOTHING whatsoever to do with them it's incredibly childish and pathetic to look people up just for the purpose of ****-stirring.

Very juvenile!!!

I still have one! They watch my posts and regularly made 'tell tale' phone calls about things I had put (wildly embellished in most cases). Fortunately the recipient of the calls was also my friend and had the sense to actually read the stuff I was 'supposed' to be posting and realised that what they were being told was not what I had written at all. I had loads of accusations of bullying on here although in fact it was the other way around in real life, new identities were created on here to back up the claims. One would have thought that by now they would just grow up and move on but, sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case, I just think it is sad, I feel sorry for them, they obviously have nothing in their life and are bitter because I have!

Not sure I would say it was a s strong as stalking, but just after my accident I had someone at the yard texting me telling me they read all the threads I had put on here about the accident, and I was wrong for talking about it on here because I had no right to be so upset! Didnt seem to occur to her I was stuck at home on my own, and needed some support!

I always thought I stalked you Benson, I replied to most of your posts when you got Donovan. I hope that I did it in a constructive way!!! But that was a while ago ;)

A friend of mine (in RL) had a real problem with a stalker. After she told me what he'd done (late night threatening telephone calls and visiting her (very) remote house) I asked her if she'd got a rape alarm or a mace spray?

'No' she replied 'but I do have a gun.' And she does - and it's legal.

Cool!!

I do too! She created another username so she could comment on a thread of mine, but i still found out it was her. They'd all had a good bitch on our yard about it, even though the people/pony the thread was about knew I'd posted it. wasn't going behind anyones backs at all. Every time i go to my profile & it lists the last 10 users to view it, she's always 2 of them (got 2 diff usernames still)! I just think it's sad. i can see them all there now, gathered around their phone/computer, slagging me off for whatever I've written that day. Losers :-D At least i don't have to see her/them any more. Got our own lovely little yard now. :-)

I have same attitude itsonlyme!

Unfortunately I don't think my stalker has an account on here so less easy to find out I'd she's looked at my history but I have nothing to be ashamed of.

Just glad to be outta there. The more things like this that happens the ever more grateful I am to have my very own yard :)

I had someone contact me on a certain social networking site, but not here.

Basically it was this bloke from the US who saw a picture of my horse on my page and centred in on that; and then claimed to have lived in my area in his youth. He mentioned a whole lot of people that I knew and said he'd known this one and that one, and that he'd briefly been to the same school as me, but I'd never heard of him and certainly didn't remember him.

There was nothing sinister about it; possibly the guy did go to my school!!! :) Just probably not when I was there, but it shows how careful one has to be.

Now I'm interested Heather, remind me to ask you who this was next time I see you. Do I know them.

Nope but I have made a friend on here. :D

I replied to a poster asking for local knowledge of a trainer close to me and received a PM from someone who lives close by.

We have become good friends although it was a bit weird at the 1st time met 'in the flesh' as we had already chatted lots online and FB.

So thank you HHO

You are very lucky not to Sue, they really are not nice people but pretend to be if you know what I mean! Doesn't take long for people to see through them though, you know when they move yards so many times and everyone at the last yard was horrible - you soon find out why!! People need to realise that the horse world is a very small place and things you say always come back. I would never put anything on here that I wouldn't say in RL.
