Has anyone had a strange email, to their private email address?

I've just had a strange email to my hotmail account, asking if I'd be interested in selling my horse to someone in Nigeria and if I will pay the shipping costs...
Its a scam but the only place my horse has been advertised for sale was on one website and that was about 6 months ago!

Who should I report to? I've reported it to the website he was advertised on.
PM if you want to know the website, its not their fault of course, just been told to let people be aware!

These 'Nigerian' or 'West African' Frauds have been going one for years. They will try this scam on anything you have advertised on the internet for sale. I've had similar emails over a couple of 4x4s I've sold. Hopefully people are wise enough now to realise they are scams....

I'm beginning to think these scams are getting to be as common as the one from the 'grief stricken widow' that says they are in possession of x million and God has to them to share and by golly you are the chosen one

I had a good one yesterday. It was from Inland Rev, and it looked so real! I use to have my own company, and it was about a Tax rebate etc, so thought I would have a look. Read through, all looked sincere..... Then it gives you a form to fill in, so funds can be tranferred, but strangely enough, they wanted YOUR credit card details, mothers maiden name, DOB etc etc..... hang on, if your given ME money, why do you need MY credit card number????

Needless to say, I deleted it!! My OH always tells me.... If it sounds too good to be true.... it normally is!!
 
I had a phone call yesterday about home security. Whoever thought I would be stupid enough to discuss it on the phone is nuts. Needless to say it came from a number with held call!. I put the phone down.No doubt they phone people and then burgle them if they don't have an alarm.
 
I hope people aren't gulliable (sp?) into sending their horse over there!
The website involved said to inform people and report it as its getting more and more common!
