Has anyone had success with regumate ?any alrenatives that work

Hi mare in saeson and its affecting her work.Sum1 recomended Regumate from vets throughout the summer season??has any1 use any alternatives for stroopy mares,not sure the herbal stuff works to be honest as stroopy mare did nothing when i used it?thanks

Only time I have seen regumate work was on a mare going to stud to get her to come into season...

My old mare was on regumate when I bought her, we brought her off it and she turned into a nightmare, so ended up back on it, and was back to her lovely self most of the time

Had a fair amount of sucess with regumate, seems to do the job well.
I use something called oestrafree on Moon if she gets bad, she hasnt needed it this year but really helped last year to focus her mind

Regumate is pretty much a last resort in my opinion, I tried everything on the market and nothing helped, got the vet out and he said we would try regumate. He also said if regumate didnt work then she would need to be scanned as the chances are if it doesnt work the horse has ovarian cancer, that obv isnt a hugely common problem. The only problem with it is, in alot of cases, but obv not all the horse will end up spending more time every year needing to have the drug, gets very expensive at £120per litre (aprox) !!!
