I've got an albion legend 5000 which is a mw and my mare is w-xw. I was wondering if anyone has had the tree in their saddle changed/replaced recently and how much it cost and were there any issues? I don't mind paying £100 for a new tree as obviously this is a big job but any more and may aswel buy another saddle!!

Thank u!!

Coblets saddle tree cracked and we were advised it would be around £200 to repair it. It was also too small so we ended up scrapping it as it's resale value was about the same as the cost of repair. Quite a shame as it was a really comfy saddle.
We got a new 2nd hand saddle which fits horse well but it's torture on the riders bum:( well at least he's comfy now.

The cost of replacing the tree will be very expensive , the cost of the tree and then its the cost for your saddler to fit it . Is the tree broken or are you putting a different tree in ? Sorry I dont know enough about Albions , is the 500 a changeable tree saddle ?

It's too narrow albion can change the headplate for £300 ish for that I thought it would be cheaper to have a new tree! Or maybe stretched?

My Antares jumping saddle tree broke when the saddle was just under 3 years old. Their guarantee is for 3 years. The saddle was collected from my yard, sent to France, fitted with a new tree, new girth straps, new leather seat and returned to my yard all free under the guarantee. No quibbling.

Expensive saddle but fantastic service. Thank you Antares.

I worked for a saddler so I would imagine that its going to be as expensive as Albion doing it . Minor repairs arent too expensive but as soon as you start getting to the bones of a saddle there is alot of time and hand stitching involved which is not cheap . Would the saddle take a different size tree ? I would of thought it may put strain on places that it wasnt meant to have strain ( like fitting Person A sized 7 feet into person B sized 6 shoes ! ). Ask your saddler and see what they say .
