Just as a matter of interest, regarding colic, about 3 years ago our boy,15.3 3/4 arab had colic on a monday night, vet out, injected him, job sorted, or so we thought, on the friday night(always at night!!!!) crashing and banging, he was down again, serious this time, sweating profusely, vet out immediately, sedated him and jabbed him again, by morning he was no better, vet back out, gave him what seemed gallons of electrolytes, he bucked up then. Hubby kept a close eye and by the afternoonhe had passed the most enormous round worm which when stretched out must have been 8 foot long, hubby showed it to me through the window on a 4 pronged fork- i was horrified!! Now all our horses have always been wormed regularly, very particular about such things, so we asked the vet what to do, worming was due, springtime, so he said torest him for a few days and gave us Equest and the Pramox, we had always used things like eqvalen or similar, so we stick to Equest now. This was a close call for our boy,he was fine before or so we thought, and he is fine now. Has anyone had this dinosaur of a worm?
