was thinking the same as just got in. I do really hope the little man is ok. Come on Sophie let us know what the vet said and did please, we are concerned for your pony?
the swelling had gone down this morning and he wasnt so lame, he wasn't DEAD or even HALF DEAD!!!, he's on painkillers and anti botics. as long as it doesnt swell/get more lame he should be fine
Ah good news. Cuts like these can often cause so many problems - and prompt action is always advisable.
I remember Amy having the most inocuous (sp) little cut on her cannon bone - but boy did it cause some problems. It was actually very deep and she had massive doses of anti-biotics intraveniously for a couple of days, then powders for a further seven...

I don't think anyone really expected him to be dead, did they?
Excellent news though Sophie. What a relief!
I've never been lucky. I always know that if there is a worse possible case scenario that you can rest assured my horse will have it!
Oh thanks for letting us know how he is, so glad he's on the mend
ETS: Pidge had a tiny cut ages ago which seemed really trivial so treated it and turned him out next morning. Went to get him in at tea time and his leg was twice the size it should have been
cue vet coming out and jabbing him and antibiotics for a week
Great news. I don't think anyone was having a go at Sophie, just genuinely concerned. To be honest, without seeing the horse 'in person' as such, I think everyone erred on the side of caution.
