Has anyone hunted with Bloodhounds ?

I ask because a fellow livery has talked me into going on a hound ride tomorrow! I have hunted once 20+ years ago and that was a cub meet! How fast are we likely to be going ? D tells me it will be walk, trot and the odd canter.If its going to be fast then i'm not going! Sophie has hunted before but not in the last 2 years.

Yep! The hound exercise is lovely, and exactly as you have been told!

Enjoy it! The season hunting is a bit mad, but very very good fun

I used to go out with the Farmers and it was fantastic. Hound exercise will be just as your friend said but will probably quicken up as they get nearer the opening meet. Its still early so will be steady ATM.

Hound rides with eabh are just like a group hack. Very fun and enjoyable. Normally toward the end they have a canter but that is optional and not everyone joins in.

You can go as fast as you like - I stuck to the back with her when I took her and went for one really long blast but you wouldnt have too if you go with someone who is prepared to go abit slower. You dont have to jump either as there is normally a non jumping group to follow and the people on the quad bikes look after you at the back also. You will love it

We never went as D bottled it and i forgot the back lady was coming but next week there is a pleasure ride from our yard and then they are doing a hound ride in the afternoon so we will definately be going on that one!
