Has anyone managed to get a BE run on a day ticket?

I was thinking that BE entries seem to be down a bit and, barring the early season mad rush period, events seem to be balloting fewer people.

Have a couple of possible horses for Intro runs. They either aren't mine or won't be here long enough to be worth registering.

Has anyone had success yet getting Intro runs on a day ticket without getting balloted??

Yep, I did Burnham Beeches on tichet last year. Had to do day before dressage though. I think if you are a member it makes you more likely to get in tho even if horse not registered?

I have been on day tickets for 3 years and only managed to do 3 events however I now help at all my local events and this gets me in.

That is the only way you will be able to get in on a day ticket is if you offer to help.

Every time I enter I get in now.

I've never really had a problem getting runs on a ticket, not that I've done loads, but only been balloted a couple of times.

If the weather is kind & not too much cancelled you should be fine. Andrew has only competed on a day ticket until this season. He only ever got balloted once, Allerton last year that ended up cancelled anyway.

Oh dear, most of the events I go to are 3 hours or more away and the thought of driving that 2 days running doesn't really appeal!

Sorry if I sound reluctant and I appreciate that events can't run without volunteers but maybe I'm being naive to think that I can event a horse on a day ticket, even if only for one or two runs?

You could down here Gamebird! I appreciate how unhelpful that is, but events down here just don't seem to ballot as much as the northern ones.

Choose the time of year events tend to be quieter over the summer and autumn periods as people go on holiday or have moved up a level. I think you should be fine. I ran a whole season on day tickets and never had a single problem but I did not start till July.

A friend has got into 2 local events so far this year but neither of them have balloted in previous years. Later season events at the same venues end up balloting people with stickers so she never gets to run later in the season.
